Wilson's Christmas Party at School

Today was kids last school day.Now it's Xmas Break! They only go back on January 5th...
So once it was they last day, they had a small party at school (party in school here is equal to kids singing and dancing. That' s about it...)
Filipe also had a party at Junior High, but it was at the exact same hour then Wilson's.
Last year I didn't managed to watch Wilson's Xmas party cause the parents were not aloud to watch due to the lack of space...(Yeah, you read it right. Not aloud!)So this year I decided to watch Wilson's...Poor Filipe didn't have any family member watching his...Thanks God he is mature enough to understand the reason why...
So, here are 3 videos of the kids performance...

This first one is Wilson's class performing a song/dance.He's the one in the end of the front row with a dark brown jacket and a blue scarf.(I'm sorry about the heads in front but it was crowded and I couldn't get up to make the video. And I had Eric sit on my lap! :P)

This second one is Wilson's music and English class. You can see his music teacher playing guitar.

Finally the third one!
This is nothing to do with Wilson!LOL!
You see, where we live there are 3 predominant cultures (Portuguese,African and Gypsy).
I bet you girls have that romantic idea of gypsy ladies with colorful long skirts reading hands...
That's far from the truth!....
They have a very strong culture that has some beautiful things like girls and their pride about their long hairs, like the jewelery they wear (they love gold) and their dancing.
The teachers try to emphasize the best in every culture.
In this video you can see 2 gorgeous gypsy girls and some gypsy boys dancing.Of course, that in every class there are kids from the 3 cultures but this 3rd grade (year) teacher decided to do something different than Christmas Carols.

My Day in the ER

This is just a very tiny post to tell you that I've had a crappy day...
I'm feeling so exhausted and my head is killing me!...
After lunch, Wilson's teacher called me to school once Wilson was feeling sick...
He had a huge pain in his chest, is vision was kinda blurry and he was so pale that she thought that he would faint...
As we were walking home, Wilson started to complaint about a pain in his shoulder/arm....Ok at this point I REALLY started to worry about the whole situation and took him straight to the ER!...
After 5 long hours, we got back with a whole bunch of exams in our hands.
Thanks God it was nothing!
Now I must to schedule an app. with a children Cardiologist to make sure it was REALLY nothing...
My head is about to explode....
You have no idea of the amount of sick children (mostly newborns) that were there!....I can still hear them crying!......

WILSON'S ESSAY

Last weekend Wilson (who is in the 4th grade[year])  brought an essay to do as Homework. His teacher wanted them to give a deep thought about stubbornness and disobedience and the outcome of those actions.
So she asked the kids to write a  short essay about that subject.

Here's the translation of  Wilson's essay:

«Stubbornness and Disobedience»
"Stubbornness and Disobedience means that a person is stubborn and disobedient.Means that that person has no future, that is evil and that nobody will want out hang out with him or her.
Stubbornness means that a person is stubborn and that that person doesn't care about what we say to him or her.
Disobedience means that a person is disobedient, that he or she doesn't obey to someone else, specially to the grown up people. And that is something that we shouldn't do.
Therefor, I promise and I swear from the center of my heart that I will never be someone stubborn and disobedient.
It depends on God if he creates a  person who is disobedient and stubborn, or not.
And in my own opinion, I was very lucky to be born as a person who is not disobedient or stubborn.I'm really, really lucky!
And that's the end of my essay."

That boy really cracks me up!!!
No wonder he has got some gray hairs already!I believe he will do just fine in the Philosophy subject!Oh boy!....

Nasty October-- Take 1

This month has not been easy for me!...
Kid's injuries...Trips to the ER...Family issues...Extra bills....Friendship disappointments...*Big Sigh*
Remember the cute picture I've posted on my last Wordless Wednesday?Yes...You got it right!...The one where my 9 year old Wilson is on the slide...That sweet lil'boy always had a lot of energy to spend!...
I keep saying to him when he's at home "Can't you stop still for a second?!" or "Stop jumping! You're not an ape you know?!"
Because he's like that I usually allow him to play outside with his school buddies so he can run and get exhausted!...

Well, yesterday he asked me to go and play outside...
Here's the outcome of that:

This was how he looked yesterday:

And this was how he looked this morning before going to school:

He said he was running away from one of his buddies...They were playing "Catch"...
He stumbled on his own feet!...
Everyone asked him (including the teacher) how he got that bruise...
By the look of it I bet everyone thought I had beat him!....*Big Sigh*............
One week ago Filipe fell on the the Gym's class...Dad took him to the ER...Was nothing serious (you can check that story over my other blog)...
About the other issues I'll post it later...
Right now I just feel like laying on my couch, cover my legs with a blanket and read an awesome book so I can be a different "person" for at least an half an hour...

Music Class

Wilson got this project to his music class. The teacher asked the kids to form a group and then choose a song to dance and study...
This is what the kiddos have chosen:

(This is Kuduro. It's one kind of African Music that is in vogue right now.It has it's origin in Angola. This group a.k.a. Buraka Sound System, won a MTV Award last year.)

First day at school

Yep...Today was my big boys first day at school!
They were kinda excited with it but not too much Excited, know what I mean!? ;)
Specially my older boy Filipe...He isn't that thrilled with the idea of having mainly male teachers!ROFL!!!
He says they are harder on him!And his best friend shares the same opinion!
He's on the 6th grade now and Wilson is on the 4th grade.
Eric is still home with me!...
So......
No more of this:

Or this:

or even this!...

Only Eric gets to get an easy life!

Until the next School Break!
