15 Lil' Things About Me
Ok...I know that this post will make you wonder about my mental sanity...And you'll be probably right about that!...LOL!So here's a list about some things that might let you know a lil' more about who's "Sandra".
1--I'm a daydreamer!(Though I'm conscious about reality)
2--I love Basketball! (To play as well)
3--I love horses (but I've only ride one when I was 11 y.o.)
4--I'm such a "redneck"! I love cowboy hats (but I don't have any) and I love country music (Faith Hill are my fav)
5--I'd love to have one of those Xmas wool sweaters (you know!Red and green with stars and Xmas trees...)
6--On September 11 I spent all day crying (I watched it happening live on Tv)
7--In Autumn, whenever I see a golden/reddish maple tree I feel homesick...
8--I don't want any of my kids to have Portuguese names (only Filipe has [and it sounds the same as Philip] cause I wasn't allowed to name him Eric at the time)
9--For the past 8/9 years I've been applying for the green card visa lottery
10--I rather deal with child labor pains then with a toothache!
11--For my 15 birthday my dad gave the US flag (yep!the star spangled one!)
12--I love to read (and I prefer to read the books in English)
13--My fav Tv show is "Desperate House Wives"
14--I believe in Angels (mine is Iahel) but I'm not a religious type of person
15--I love perfumes (my fav one is "Chance" by Chanel)

My African gown
As you may remember, I've mentioned an African gown in my post "Back from Africa".
Well, here it is!
You know I hate to be photographed.This pic was taken by my elder boy Filipe.
We were at my MIL for a big family lunch.
This was the after match!I look like s*****, cause I haven't been resting just as much as I was supposed to...
My mom took some pics as well,so next time she's here I'll transfer them to my computer so I can share with you.
Just don't expect too much!It won't get any better!LOL!

Am I too demanding?
Sometimes I wonder if I'm too demanding when it comes to my family and friends.
I get often criticized, specially by my mom, 'cause I wanted other people to be more like me...
There are 2 values that I consider extremely important in my life : Family and Friendship.
Because of this I'm getting more and more disappointed every single day...
I give my self heart and soul to the ones I really care about. And a I love to see a smile on a friends face. I know I'm a good listener, but I know I'm a great talker too! I'm always there when they need me, but unfortunately they aren't always there for me (except one dear friend).
When a dear person of mine is going through some rough times, I'm the first to reach my hand...Am I being too demanding if I expect a "thank u" instead of being ignored?
What about the "friends" that at the minute I get online, instantanly disappear?? In this last year I've noticed that I was the only one who was always checking on them...So I decided that that was it! I had enough with this situation!...
This was the reason why I've stopped posting in Portuguese. It wasn't worth it!
I have to say that I feel much better since I started blogging around in foreign blogs. I've made a nice handful of new friends now.
My mom says: "But u don't really know them! They can be the opposite of what u think they are!"
Well, I know some people since ever and lately I've been finding out that after all, I don't really know them!
I'm glad to vent out and see some feedback.
I'm glad to get to know wonderful people like Toni, Tammy, Tina, Angeline, Shireen, Petula and most recently Kellan...
I'm glad to be able to share my life experiences and get to learn from others as well...
I'm glad to know that I'm not alone and all around the world there are women dealing with the same issues than I...
Am I too demanding if I expect my family and friends to remember me and my kids?...
I don't really know...

MOM & DAD TRIBUTE MEME
My BBF Tina tagged a couple of days ago with this Tribute Meme,which I find lovely and profound.
My parents are everything to me...
I have to say that I always was daddy's girl.He used to take me everywhere and he was always so proud of me...
They got separated when I was16/17, 'cause life wasn't easy on them...Neither on me I have to say...
My dad came for my wedding (he moved to Mozambique after the separation) and what was supposed to be just a family reunion, turned out to be a wedding set for over 100 people...
When I told him I was expecting a baby boy (Filipe, my first son) he was thrilled.After all it was his first grandson...So when Filipe was born, he traveled up here once again to be with his grandson for 1 entire month!...
The day Filipe was turning one year old I got this phone call from Mozambique.I thought it was the proud grandpa wishing a Happy Birthday to the little one...Turned out to be someone with sad news...My dad died that same day on the way to the hospital.Malaria that's what they said it was...He was only 49 years old...
And I miss him dearly...
My mom (she's a sweetie!) lives in a near by small village.I talk to her every single day.I'm always calling her and checking how's she!
She loves to spoil her grandchildren.
So here's some pics.
